- ABOUT IEL
InnoVenture is the annual technopreneurship competition organised by the Institute for Engineering Leadership (IEL) at NUS where participants are challenged to come up with feasible solutions for real problems.
The set of skills required to solve these problems are diverse and broad, and encourage participants to form teams of 3-4 from multi-disciplinary and multi-graduate levels. Top teams that create, design and disrupt will receive a prototyping grant provided by NUS to develop their concepts, and bring it to real life.

FOR STUDENTS – ABOUT INNOVENTURE
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AND CREDITS
Students learn key aspects of technopreneurship and, in teams, develop an idea to a solution that includes a business case. Students will become part of a larger innovation and entrepreneurship community in the Faculty of Engineering facilitated through the Institute for Engineering Leadership.
InnoVenture is open to all graduate levels and faculties at NUS. Teams are encouraged to form multi-disciplinary teams as much as possible to enhance creativity and skillset within the team.
NUS Faculty of Engineering undergraduate students can earn credits (2MC + 2MC) through InnoVenture under the Technopreneurship and Incubation Program. For more information and the eligibility criteria please see: TIP Engineering
In today’s dynamic, technologically-advanced knowledge economy, mere technical competency will not guarantee success within the engineering fields. The next generation of engineer leaders has to possess strong abilities and the skills to communicate, manage, and set direction. A successful engineer must be innovative, resourceful, and entrepreneurial, as well as be able to work and integrate ideas across various disciplines. The Institute for Engineering Leadership (IEL) was set up specifically with this end in mind – to nurture the future leaders of the engineering profession, who will advance the field to the next level and to help create new products, services, and enterprises.
