Vinod Vasnani started his career in R&D of Advanced Control Systems with Emerson Process Management (then known as Fisher-Rosemount) in 1994. Emerson Process went on to embark on a technology disruption initiative to develop the next generation control systems called DeltaV.
He took up a role in R&D and thereafter Product Management in that team managing the introduction of DeltaV for Asia Pacific. In late 1999, he joined a startup, Accellion Inc, shortly after it was founded as part of the management team. He held various responsibilities including product strategy, R&D & product marketing. Vinod is currently a co-founder of Qryptal which is focused on developing a platform for document security and integrity. He is passionate about working with and mentoring future technology entrepreneurs. He joined NUS in Aug 2014 as Adjunct Associate Professor in the Faculty of Engineering, Division of Engineering and Technology Management where he assists commercialization of technologies in the Enterprise Development Lab.
Since then he has been an enthusiastic lead in the development of the Enterprise Development module as well as InnoVenture – Institute for Engineering Leadership (IEL) undergraduate programme. He has also helped IEL connect with a diverse group of industry leaders which has allowed IEL to expand its industry contacts; this included identifying speakers & mentors for the modules he is involved in, IEL Sharing Sessions, potential sponsors for InnoVenture and in facilitating visit programmes.
